Why She’ll Die: As much as I adore Szohr, let’s face it, her alter ego is easily the most expendable of Girl’s core clique. As a bonus, eliminating Vanessa would get Gossip Girl author Cecily von Ziegesar off producers’ backs.
Why She Won’t: Who’d steam everyone’s lattes?

Bart (Robert John Burke)
Why He’ll Die: His death would be a massive story generator: Not only would it pit Lily and Chuck against each other in a battle over the millionaire’s estate, but it would add a new layer of angst to Ed Westwick’s brooding scion.
Why He Won’t: Come on — killing the old guy? Way too obvious.

Nate (Chace Crawford)
Why He’ll Die: Rumor has it that Crawford recently made some noise about wanting a fatter paycheck. Killing off his character would nip a potential salary dispute in the bud.

Dan who? There’s a new guy in town and Serena kissing him! The latest development on Gossip Girl is sure to have the entire Upper East Side buzzing. After all, Serena’s liplock with the mystery man was caught on a JumboTron in Times Square.

Here’s the scoop: John Patrick Amedori is set to appear in four episodes of the scandalous CW show (the first airs Oct. 27) as Aaron Rose, a new beau for Blake Lively’s Serena van der Woodsen. The Maryland native, 21, talked to PEOPLE about his new role, kissing Blake (he’s friends with her real-life boyfriend Penn Badgley!) and being in the middle of the the paparazzi-fan swirl called Gossip Girl. – Jennifer Wren

Tell us about your character, Aaron Rose.
He’s definitely a part of that Upper East Side [world]. I think he’s got a lot of money. But he chooses not to be around that. He probably lives on the Lower East Side or in Greenwich Village.

How does he get involved with Serena?
He has an art show at Dan’s father’s gallery. Serena goes to see Dan. He takes notice of her and remembers her from camp. She doesn’t remember him at first. That’s pretty much how they start talking.

There are pictures of you kissing Blake Lively in Times Square with everyone watching. What was that like?
It was crazy. At first, I think Blake and me were nervous. When I walk in front of the camera, I kind of just block everything out and it’s just Blake and me doing the scene. [Then] you realize our faces are as large as possible on this JumboTron and then reality sets in.

Was that the characters’ first kiss?
That was the first on-camera kiss for the relationship.

What did you do to prepare?
I chewed gum.

Is fresh breath a priority?
Absolutely.

What was it like meeting the cast for the first time?
I’ve known Penn [Badgley] for a few years. We used to audition against each other. We have mutual friends and we used to hang out a bit. It was kind of a reunion and just catching up. In that sense, it was more comfortable to be around new people. Everyone’s really nice, really cool. They don’t make me feel like an outsider, which is fortunate for me.

Were you nervous kissing Blake, whose real-life boyfriend is Penn?
Yeah, a little bit. It’s work and Penn and Blake have had to kiss other people on the show. They’re pretty much used to it now, knowing that it’s work. There wasn’t really anything really awkward. We just knew it was work and we had to do it.

Have you had a chance to bond with the cast off set?
Yeah, absolutely.

What kind of things have you been able to do offset?
Penn, Blake and I went out and got some food, walked around [Manhattan's] lower west side, talked and hung out.

Did you get a taste of how the Gossip Girl frenzy — how they deal with with the fans and paparazzi?
Just a little bit. When we shoot on location, it’s an interesting sight. It’s something I’m definitely not familiar with. They don’t hassle me. They only hassle Blake, and Penn [and others]. They’re really, really good about it. It’s definitely an experience.

What else can you tell us about where Serena and Aaron’s relationship is going?
I think they both start to fall kind of hard for each other.

The pop star made a triumphant return to MTV's Video Music Awards, winning three Moonmen, including the night's big honor, video of the year, for her hit "Piece of Me."

Jordin sparks is not a slut.

Not everybody is laughing at Russell Brand at this year's Video Music Awards.

Jordin Sparks spoke out against the British comedian's jokes about the Jonas Brothers and their purity rings before introducing T.I.'s performance.

"I just have one thing to say about promise rings. It's not bad to wear a promise ring," Sparks, 18, told the crowd, off-the-cuff, "because not everybody – guy or girl – wants to be a slut."

The American Idol winner's comments were met by an audible cheer from the crowd.

During his opening monologue, Brand had poked fun at the Jonas Brothers, suggesting that they should be taking advantage of their celebrity to win dates. (Brand, himself, is a famous lothario in his native England.)

Sparks has long spoken publicly about holding onto her virginity. She, too, wears a purity ring.

Later, Brand returned to the stage to offer an apology of sorts.

"I didn't meant to take it lightly," the host said about purity rings. "I don't want to piss off teenage fans." Still, Brand, whose apology soon morphed into a series of off-color jokes, said, "Promise rings, I'm well up for it. [But] a bit of sex, it never hurt anybody."

RUMOR: OMG! Not enough people are watching Gossip Girl and it’s gonna be dunzo after this season.
REALITY: A world without Gossip Girl is about as unlikely as Blair Waldorf wearing body glitter … Most freshmen series would be facing the boot if they failed to average 2.5 million viewers in their first year … At The CW, the consensus is simple: This little Girl is special, with viewers that aren’t counted properly by Nielsen because they don’t simply sit down at 8 p.m. every Monday in front of the TV. How to Be Like Blair Waldorf

Blair Waldorf is the main character from the Gossip Girls series. She's rich, fabulous, social, and looks amazing. She always gets what she wants...who wouldn't want to be like her?

1. Try getting BLUE contacts (in the books, blair has cobalt blue eyes, unlike in the tv show, where she has brown eyes. and dyeing your hair very dark brown. You can blow dry or straighten it, as long as it's healthy and shiny. Blair is 5"4, with blue eyes and straight/wavy brown hair or sometimes might do loose waves depending on the occasion. At the start of the series, her hair is long, but then she gets it cut in a short style.
2. Dress preppy, but also a little bit sexy. If you can, get designer brands - some of Blair's favourites are Chloe, Marni, C&C California, Calvin Klein, True Religion, Seven, Dior, Habitual, and Missoni. Also, remember her favourite colour is shell pink, but she isn't obsessed with it - try to get a pink polo. Blair also loves cashmere, designer bags, and shoes. She has expressed her dislike for Target, so stay away from their clothes. Shop outlets, clearance sales and TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Loehmanns for the shoes and bags. Whatever you wear, make sure its hot and looks like what a Manhattan socialite would wear.
3. Be very smart and a perfectionist. Blair is at the top of her class, speaks French fluently, and excels at all of her subjects. Try not to ever fail anything. If you do, lock yourself in your room and feel sorry for yourself while watching "Breakfast at Tiffany's".
4. Don't be afraid to be mean, but do it discreetly. This means freezing out other people and spreading nasty rumors. Don't ever confront someone, or say some cheesy comeback, that's just desperate.
5. Do whatever you want to do, but don't mess up or embarrass yourself or your family! Drink, have sex, swear. Do whatever you want, but just don't be seen passing out or puking out of a taxi.
6. Play tennis, but don't get REALLY into it, remember it's just a fun hobby for Blair.
7. Play field hockey. Blair and Serena play it!
8. Go tanning with your friends, don't be afraid to sunbathe topless if you are on a private beach.
9. Be popular, or at least be the head of your group.
10. Go to/throw a lot of parties and functions.
11. Have a gorgeous preppy boyfriend. He doesn't have to be smart, but he has to be VERY sexy and desired, as well as very preppy. Bonus points if he's rich and loves sailing.
12. Make a big deal out of everything other people do that annoys you, but rarely whine about yourself.
13. Try to stretch out fights for as long as they can last. Make sure they are the one apologize.
14. Be a drama queen, but still remain cool. Don't cause a scene in public, but if your pissed off, make sure everyone else knows it!
15. Be confident. Know that you are always right.
16. never feel bored or deprived of attention. If it feels like your (LONG TERM) boyfriend is ignoring you, do not call him, buy him presents or leave him notes do that he pays attention to you again because it's his loss. If you feel bored, watch an Audrey Hepburn movie, go shopping, get coffee with friends, read a magazine such as Vanity Fair, take a bath with luxury products, go see a movie, or if you are desperate watch TV.
17. Go on lots of really nice vacations! Don't camp or stay in a trailer, always insist on a great hotel, and don't go anywhere boring. Somewhere on the coast, or somewhere overseas exotic is good.
18. always get what you want, no matter what you have to do to get it.
19. Blair isn't a slut, she doesn't sleep around or dress promiscuously. But she does dress sexy, for example leather pants, singlets, sexy dresses and tasteful miniskirts.
20. Also, (in the television show), Blair is widely known for wearing headbands of all colours, sizes and patterns. Not only do they finish of an outfit perfectly, they complete that ultimate preppy look, so investing in a good few headbands will give you the ultimate Blair-air to your look.

* Get off the computer! She really only uses the computer for homework, and for checking her email/IMing and checking Gossip Girl.

Season Two of Gossip Girl opens in New York's Hamptons region of Long Island. Summer fun - and romantic drama - for all involved.

When we first see Nate (Chace Crawford), he is in the process of getting pawed feverishly in the car by a cougar. In other words, an older, married woman. He's clearly more into her than he's letting on, and relishing the role of boy-toy.

Nate has been masquerading that he and Serena are together, but really, she is just playing along so that he can do whatever he wants and people will leave her alone about her messy breakup with Dan.

Speaking of Lonely Boy... he's been far from lonely. He's got a summer job assisting a well-known writer in the Hamptons, but rather than writing, he is focused more on his endeavors with the opposite sex.

He's dating two chicks at the same time. Go Dan!

The younger Humphrey, Jenny, is working at a fashion design house. She's getting abused by its big-shot owner and told she's not good enough. What she really needs is a friend. A friend named Eric.

Chuck Bass is being, well, Chuck Bass, lounging on the beach and keeping company with three bikini-clad babes all too eager to provide "caretaking" of whatever he requests. But what he's really fixated on is Blair.

He wants her back even though he ditched her in the first place. One gets the sense she would be open to it - but first, she's coming to the Hamptons with new boyfriend James. A boyfriend she's using to make Chuck jealous.

Chuck sees through this right away, but at dinner with Blair and her family, he's annoyed at how interested James seems to be in his girl. James then catches on that he's being played and calls Blair selfish.

The cougar, Katherine, invites Nate to her house for another mauling - and apparently for the first time at her actual resident. Her husband is out of town, so that's cool. Well, that is until he comes home early from wherever he was, and nearly catches them in the act.

Nate is forced to flee out a window and run through the streets of East Hampton half naked, where he's almost run over by Serena and the hot lifeguard Blair convinced her to go on a date with.

Nothing came of their date - except the priceless look on Nate's face as he looked at Serena and the dude asked her "What's that guy's deal?!"

The Hamptons "White Party" is coming up and lots of things are happening. Jenny apologizes to Eric (Connor Paolo) for the way she treated him, and he agrees to get her an invitation somehow.

Dan is also going, having been axed from his summer job. So are faux couple Serena and Nate - who wants to get a look at Katherine's husband face-to-face.

Chuck has been doing some recon on Blair's boyfriend, and is growing more and more suspicious that he's not the Georgetown stud he says he is.

At the party, Jenny runs into her boss, who is none too pleased to see her - but Eric saves the day by introducing J to Tinsley Mortimer, a real-life socialite and apparent friend of Eric and Serena's mom.

Tinsley loves Jenny's designs and they totally hit it off. Thanks to Little E's connection, Little J was able to show her boss up somethin' fierce!

Nate becomes insanely jealous seeing Katherine with her husband. Serena helps him retaliate with some serious PDA in full view of everyone.

The move works well for Nate, who is later tackled by a jealous Katherine. But it backfires on Serena as Dan sees them. He's not pleased when once again, his dream girl can't or won't explain her strange actions.

For once, though, Dan is knocked off his moral high horse when BOTH his summer flings corner him at the party as he's talking to Serena. They've figured out that he's been two-timing them and douse him in cocktails.

Humbled, Dan admits to Serena that he can't get her out of his head. They agree to leave the party together and talk some more.

Just as Chuck is about to uncover James' true identity, he spills the beans to Blair himself. It turns out James was also being dishonest with her - he is actually Marcus Beaton, a British Lord. With an accent and everything!

Most girls simply want him for his title and money, he tells Blair - so he has been pretending to be an average American this whole time. Suddenly Queen B finds him a little less dull than she used to.

As she's about to leave the White Party with Marcus, Chuck corners Blair and begs her not to. She says if he will say just three words - eight letters - she'll be his. Chuck wants to, but stutters and just can't.

Spurned again, Blair leaves with Marcus. Fade to black.
